2007 Season - Week 11
BUMS Trading Day 2
Last Sunday was Trading Day 2 and 18 players were cut by 8 owners. The changes resulted in two teams now not having any BUMS representation, the still winless Dolphins and the Mighty Raiders. Oddly three players who have been placed on Injured Reserve were not replaced by their owners. Dave G has the franchise tag on injured QB Jake Delhomme but there is a spare $1million in his budget. Also David Stamp and Mark Harris kept DeShawn Wynn and Cadillac Williams on their rosters. As well as these 3 players, from now on if any player is placed on IR then they can be replaced on a BUMS roster by a free agent. Remember if it’s a franchise player you still have to pay him if you cut him. Also please note that from now on the NFL week will start overnight Thursday/Friday with the NFL Network Game, so any changes should be with me by 11pm Thursday to count for that weekend.
3 is a Magic Number
It took just 3 players to put Cheryl in the Hall of Fame last week. Kicker Shayne Graham made 7 Field Goals (21pts), QB Ben Roethlisberger ran for a TD, passed for 2 TDs & a 2-Point conversion (13pts) while RB Brian Westbrook ran for a TD and caught 2 more (18pts) giving her a total of 52 points. That is her third visit to the Hall.
Thanksgiving Day
We are getting together this Thursday (22nd) from 5.30pm to see a very key game in the NFC North as Detroit (6-4) try to get back on track after 2 consecutive losses while hosting Green Bay (9-1). This is followed by the Jets @ Cowboys, where Dallas are also 9-1. Cheryl will be doing a big roast dinner for around 7pm to give thanks so please let us know by Wednesday night if you are coming over. We’ve got 7 round the table so far. Also Thanksgiving Day sees the first NFL Network game broadcast of the season. As mentioned above from then on each NFL week starts on Thursday’s with an NFL Network game. We will get together on Friday evenings to watch these.
BUMS on Seats
After Thanksgiving Day we’ll give the first Friday evening (Indianapolis @ Atlanta) a miss but it’s back to HQ on Sunday from 6pm for the Sky doubleheader – Washington @ Tampa Bay followed Denver @ Chicago. On Monday evening Philadelphia travel to New England at Johnny’s and on Tuesday it’s Miami @ Pittsburgh at H’s. As always all are welcome, just let the hosts know if you’re coming for catering purposes.
